Her new book titled "Further in the Alpine" is a continuation of her illustrated journal that you might already be familiar with, "In the Alpine" (2022). Enjoy another year of illustrations, stories and observations from her time working in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park.

With an unwavering passion for music and a deep connection to their audience, Michael Huber and Nils Loewen gig together and separately, honing their skills, entertaining audiences and bringing people together through the universal language of song. Their warm spirit, talent, and dedication to their craft make them a pleasure to experience.
Throughout their careers, Michael and Nils have released multiple albums and played countless gigs. In 2018 they worked together on the EP Michael Huber - Wake Up. This recording was well received and led to Michael's full-length recording, Spirit Bear, combining poetic songwriting with a mesmerizing cast of BC's best musicians. Come to the open house on October 11th to find out what the future may hold for the Silverton Gallery. Community members, art lovers, construction workers, business owners, artists, and others; we value everyone's visions, knowledge and feedback!

Klezmeridian
Immerse yourself in the warm and soulful sounds of Klezmeridian - a West Kootenay band that’s crossing musical meridians and combining the styles of Yiddish Klezmer folk music and contemporary folk - creating a uniquely diverse and vibrant listening experience. A treasure trove of talent, the 6 piece ensemble features Martine denBok (violin), Nicola Everton (clarinet), Bessie Wapp (accordion and vocals), Rob Fahie (bass), Graham Tracey (percussion) and Noel Fudge (guitar), all of whom are accomplished musicians in their own right in the genres of classical, jazz, rock, folk and world music. Bringing a moody and eclectic program, Klezmeridian will present some traditional tunes, but it’s most distinctive flavors are composed by the groups’ guitarist and talented composer, Noel Fudge, who enjoys merging traditional instrumentation and scales with his contemporary, accessible style. With superb skill and colorful personalities combined, Klezmeridian creates a fantastically fun vibe, sure to get you smiling, inside and out!
To keep our concerts accessible to everyone in our community as possible, we offer a sliding scale on tickets. Pay what you may between $20-$40/ticket when you purchase at Big Dog, Silverton General Store, or at the door.

Over the past 16 years, Gabriel has emerged as a leading figure in the modern global Latin-jazz, Afro-Cuban, and tango-jazz scenes, gracing numerous critically acclaimed albums and prestigious festivals and venues worldwide. Recognized for his exceptional talent as both composer and performer, he has garnered praise from esteemed platforms such as Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine. Gabriel's remarkable contributions to music were honored with a gold medal for the year's best album at the prestigious World Music Awards.

The Painting as Meditation workshop will take place at Kohan Reflection Garden as well as Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre (NIMC)—two Japanese Historic Sites in New Denver. The medium that Donna Hicks will use is watercolor.
This SUMI Workshop is one of three Nikkei Art Excursions offered to you by SLAC this Summer.

This SUMI workshop starts with a tour through the NIMC, after which Japanese Canadian artist Tsuneko Kokubo guides you in an exploration of SUMI (ink) drawing, using brush and pen.
This SUMI Workshop is one of three Nikkei Art Excursions offered to you by SLAC this Summer.

Come join this unique dance exploration workshop in the scenic fields of the Harris Ranch—with dancer Rachel Harris accompanied by Paul “Garbanzo” Gibbons playing the bamboo flutes. Rachel Harris will guide participants in a dance exploration over her family’s ranch, combined with storytelling of the land and the role it played during the Internment of Japanese Canadians.
This Dance Exploration Workshop is one of three Nikkei Art Excursions offered to you by SLAC this Summer.

The Lakeside String Ensemble will perform a set of classical music in the beautiful Kohan Gardens in New Denver at starting at 11 am. Last year the ensemble graced the audience in the gardens and received a standing ovation! The Lakeside String Ensemble is an eclectic mix of professional and amateur string musicians that was formed in 2022

We are excited to finally be back in The Silverton Gallery for a reading of the book "They Called Him a Radical", written by local author Vera Maloff. This is a beautiful memoir of Pete Maloff, the author's Doukhobor Grandfather, and his adherence to the moral truth "thou shalt not kill".
