About Nonie Jackson
Having been a farmer and orchardist and raising a family, I always said that one day, when I retired I would pursue my passion for creating art!
I enjoyed many years as a preschool teacher, sharing many forms of art and crafts with children, incorporating my love of nature and natural materials.
Now that I’m retired, I love to create gardens and grow plants and trees that attract nature. My partner and I enjoy spending time in Mexico in the winter, where I love to paint, inspired by all the color and energy around me!
I first learnt about Tie n Dye in Mexico , volunteering in a local school, and have since taken on the role of “ Tie n Dye Queen”, sharing my passion for creating magical colorful creations, in workshops at the local school and the SLAC center. This last winter I organized workshops at my granddaughter’s Montessori school in Chacala, when 60 children created their own Tie ‘n Dye shirts! Several adults also wanted to make shirts too, so we set up tables under a large palapa! I hope that you too will enjoy the opportunity to make your own personal wearable art.
